We have incredible
late-breaking news for those pursuing cosmetology and nail tech
careers. According to a 1999 research study of 22,500 salons nationwide:
Employment Outlook
is Excellent
There are more job
openings than there are licensed cosmetologists and nail techs
to fill them. A startling 76% of salon owners who tried to fill
open positions said they were not always able to find qualified
applicants to fill them.
Increased Earning
Power!
In 1998, the average
income for all salon professionals was $18.54 an hour, while salon
owners averaged $22.03 per hour. Full-time salaries, including
tips, were $38,583 for salon professionals and $45,822 for salon
owners.
Remember, these are
average wages. Many earned much more than this.
