A
LETTER FROM MIKE
Allow
me to introduce you to Accent Builders of Florida, Inc. (Accent Builders),
a general contracting company that has been adding to real estate
values in Florida since 1974.
Early in the life of the company, I realized that at the core of customer
satisfaction is the feeling that a familys new house reflects
that family's identity. The more the customer is allowed to invest
his/her ideas into their real property, the more they feel that the
house is their "home." Home is where birthdays and holidays
are celebrated with pride of ownership.
I derive my satisfaction in playing a pivotal role in seeing dreams
become good homes. For over twenty-five years, Accent Builders has
specialized in the "design-build" concept of fitting homes
to customers. Accent has built three ocean front homes, and three
homes on the Inter-Coastal Waterway. Approximately one half of our
homes have over three thousand square feet of luxuriously appointed
living areas. Most of these are non-repeat homes designed to capture
the best vista from a choice lot.
Accent Builders of Florida, Inc. was the general contractor selected
by Holly Hill Heritage, Inc. for the development and construction
of its seventy-eight unit townhouse project in Volusia County. This
all-brick project was marketed by actually encouraging the individual
unit owner to make pre-construction modifications to the interior
spaces. This made for homogenous exteriors, with very dramatic differences
behind the front doors. The project was sold and built out on time.
The brick exteriors have kept the Homeowners Associations
fees low. Now, fifteen years later, there have been very few re-sales.
Pride of ownership is very evident in this community.
Accent Builders is very active in remodeling existing space to fit
the needs of owners. These activities have been in residential, commercial,
and professional real estate. We have a great interest in designing
and remodeling to accommodate the special needs of the "Handi-Capable."
Accent Builders has active memberships in the National Association
of Home Builders, The East Florida Building Association, The Institute
of Disaster Restoration, The Halifax Chamber of Commerce, and the
Better Business Bureau.
I dedicate my non-construction time to assisting the mentally ill
and their families. Mental illnesses are disorders of the brain, and
these disorders cost society an alarming amount of money and unquantifiable
human toll. Since there is so much to do to ease the stigma and improve
the quality of services and research, I serve on the National Alliance
for the Mentally Ill Floridas Board of Directors.
Prior to becoming a General Contractor, I received my BA in Physics
and MBA degrees from the University of South Florida. In Vietnam,
I served as an officer in the United States Marine Corp. My related
experiences include being an Urban Intern with the Department of Housing
and Urban Development and a management trainee with Rinker Materials
Corp.
Respectfully Submitted,
Michael A. Crane, President |
