Here
at Alpha Christian Counseling we place a high priority on marriage
counseling. It is our belief that many problems manifest themselves
in marriage greater than in other areas, and it is important that
the individuals in the relationship understand their own temperament
or disposition as well as the temperament and needs of their significant
other.
Types of Temperament |
|
|
Melancholy
- This person is reclusive and has a difficult time expressing
their emotions. Distant, reserved, and emotionally detached,
this individual is also task-oriented, given to fantasy, needs
love, given to shame or anger if rejected, and is very private.
|
|
|
Sanguine
- This person needs a touching/feeling relationship, is very
impulsive, in high need of love to gain approval, and needs
to get and give love.
|
|
|
Choleric -
This person is very private, shows shallow affection easily,
but is given to fantasy, and is directive. They are goal-oriented,
with few deep relationships, and leave a high demand on spouses.
They show affection based on high goals. They are high-strung
leaders and become angry if affection needs are not met.
|
|
|
Supine
- This individual needs deep relationships. They are very
shy, hold in grief and hurt if they perceive rejection, and
will express love easily in a safe environment. They have
a high need to serve and will fall in sexual sin to find affection.
They need a touching/feeling relationship.
|
|
|
Phlegmatic
- This individual needs deep relationships. They are inflexible
and less motivated. They are very hard to read emotionally.
They show affection as required or asked and are task-oriented.
This person also has internal fantasies. |
|
These are examples of
the tools used to give individuals insight into themselves as well
as others. |
