Abdominal Surgery
Surgical
removal of excessive fat and skin from the abdomen is an aesthetic
procedure. It is designed to relieve the condition in patients
who are not excessively overweight and are generally in good health.
When surgery is performed to alleviate such complicating factors
as inability to walk normally, back pain, pressure sores, rash,
or to correct ventral hernia (diastasis recti), such surgery is
considered reconstructive.

Suction-Assisted
Lipectomy
Suction-assisted
lipectomy is a surgical procedure employing high vacuum pressure
to "suction" away localized collections of unwanted
fat. The technique can be applied to buttocks, thighs, abdomen,
arms, knees, upper torso and other parts of the body, resulting
in an aesthetically improved appearance. When the procedure is
utilized to remove a lipoma (fatty tumor) or to correct the effects
of such disease states as Steatopygia (morbid riding britches
deformity) or Cushing's Syndrome (hypercortisonism), it is considered
reconstructive surgery.
