Our Programs
Atlanta School of Massage offers three complete certification programs.
Classes begin four times a year. To accommodate your schedule, both
day and evening classes are available. Financial aid is available
for those who qualify.
Regardless of the specific program you choose, you can count on
a first-rate education that will prepare you thoroughly for a satisfying
career in massage therapy.
Integrated Massage and Deep Tissue Therapy Program
This program specializes in the application of Deep Tissue Massage
and Neuromuscular Therapy to treat injuries and address areas of
chronic tension in order to return the body to a state of health
and balance. You will learn how to assess areas of tension and blend
massage modalities to design a unique session for each client. You
will learn processing skills that enable you to guide clients into
greater awareness of their physical and psychological patterning.
Your knowledge base enables you to work in both rehabilitative settings
such as chiropractic and in therapeutic settings in conjunction
with mental health professionals.
Clinical Massage Program
The goal of this program
is to empower the therapist to make treatment decisions using proven
methods of observation and evaluation. Clinical students develop
skills which enable them to identify the origin of their clients'
pain, be it structural (damaged tissue), neurological (stress, spasm),
or psychosomatic (emotional). Your chance of success with each client
is greatly increased when you combine this knowledge with the holistic
treatment approach taken by the clinical massage therapist. Identifying
the origin of the problem gives you the ability to help the client
whose condition is best treated with massage and refer those whose
needs require intervention by other healthcare providers.
Wellness Massage and Spa Therapies Program
Devoted specifically to the specialized techniques demanded
in the rapidly growing spa industry, this program will prepare you
to work with day spas, destination spas, resorts, cruise lines,
salons and medical wellness spas. You'll focus on rejuvenation and
disease prevention, and you will learn to work with your clients
to help them create a climate that fosters wellness and good health.

There's No Substitute for "Hands-on" Experience
If you'd like to find out what it's really like to be a student
at The Atlanta School of Massage, come and spend an evening with
us. You'll have an opportunity to tour the school and talk with
instructors, staff and graduates, who will be happy to answer all
of your questions. After we demonstrate introductory massage techniques,
you'll even have a chance both to give and receive a massage.
We'll complete the evening with a tour of the Teaching
Clinic and Spa.
