Mission
Statement

Patricia Kapphahn, M.S., L.P.C.
Paul Kapphahn, Ph.D.
Charter
of the Center for Counseling Services
| |
|
We
believe that life was meant to be enjoyed, not just endured. |
| |
|
We
believe that problems are challenges that we can overcome. |
| |
|
Every
challenge is an opportunity to learn something. |
| |
|
Therapy
can be a way of dealing positively with life's challenges and experiencing
a healing in the process. |
| |
|
We
believe in brief, solution-oriented therapy guided by meeting the
needs of each individual client. |
| |
|
Honesty,
openness, and the willingness to change are important elements in
the therapeutic process. |
| |
|
As
a licensed, professional staff we are dedicated to helping all learn
the art of happiness. |
Healing
Relationships
| |
|
At
the Center we believe in healing the mind, body and spirit. |
| |
|
We
emphasize strengths and solutions rather than problems. |
| |
|
We
offer clear, concrete, detailed guidelines for change. |
| |
|
Coaching
is a powerful technique we often use with couples. |
| |
|
You
don't have to have a bad relationship to want a better, more satisfying
one. We want to help you make that dream come true. |
| |
|
Rather
than becoming stuck in blame or analysis (as in some traditional therapy)
we believe in helping couples move toward solutions and break destructive
behavior patterns. |
| |
|
We
don't require or need both partners to do couples therapy. We have
developed a system that can produce positive change with only one
person in therapy. If you want a better relationship with your partner
and are willing to make changes you can significantly turn things
around. If your partner does not choose to come to therapy, you can
make a difference by coming to therapy alone. |
| |
|
We
use "uncommon-sense" methods for breaking unproductive behavior patterns. |
| |
|
Interactions
in relationships are habits developed over the years. Sometimes minor
changes in just one partner's behavior can lead to major improvements
in the relationship. |
| |
|
Change
doesn't have to be complicated (as some may believe). |
| |
|
A
program of wellness and stress management is available for creating
and maintaining health and balance in your life. |
| |
|
Expand
your ability to live full and joyfully! |
| |
|
Learn
mind-body methods designed to cultivate inner peace, serenity, self
esteem, and relive anxiety and depression. |
