implementing all of these measures, dysfunction can be corrected,
and the patient will have a much greater chance of preserving health
and avoiding disease. In fact, this approach was endorsed by a study
undertaken by the US Government Department of Agriculture back in
1972 in which it was determined that most illness is nutritionally
related, and that a 50% or greater reduction in the incidence of
heart disease, cancer, stroke and other health problems could be
achieved through appropriate diet and lifestyle changes.
Herbert R. Slavin,
MD, has been in practice for over 20 years and specializes in Internal
Medicine. Dr. Slavin is Board Certified and is on the staff of two
