implementing all of these measures, dysfunction can be corrected,
and the patient will have a much greater chance of preserving health
and avoiding disease. In fact, this approach was endorsed by a study
undertaken by the US Government Department of Agriculture back in
1972 in which it was determined that most illness is nutritionally
related, and that a 50% or greater reduction in the incidence of
heart disease, cancer, stroke and other health problems could be
achieved through appropriate diet and lifestyle changes.
Herbert R. Slavin,
