Fairview Psychological Services, P.A. was established in Charlotte in 1989 by Patricia Powell Hundley, M.A., following two years work in private practice settings. She opened a second office in Concord approximately six years ago to offer a more convenient location for clients living in North Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, and Rowan counties.

The mission of FPS is to provide a professional, caring, and confidential atmosphere for our clients to work in brief therapy on specific behavioral goals, or to work on more comprehensive issues requiring longer and more in-depth treatment.

We adhere to a philosophy that honors:

•	Our clients' freedom to see the licensed therapist of their choice.
•	The freedom of client and therapist to determine length of treatment and treatment goals and strategies.
•	Our clients' right to choose non-medical methods of symptom management, as well as the choice to seek medication when warranted.
•	Our clients' right to choose from a variety of available therapy options: including both shorter-term behavioral therapy and longer-term approaches that offer exploration and insight into underlying issues.

To ensure our clients' privacy and message accuracy, FPS uses a 24-hour confidential voice mail. Only our therapists have access to the voice mail system and calls are always personally returned by a therapist. Our therapists schedule their own appointments and offer a free telephone consultation to clients prior to scheduling their first appointment. This provides our callers an opportunity to ask any questions they may have about our services, as well an opportunity to establish rapport with the therapist and ensure a good therapist-client match before actually coming in for their first appointment.
