What to do before you have surgery:
  • Please arrive at the time indicated by your physician.
  • Please do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery. You may brush your teeth, but do not swallow water.
  • If you have developed signs of a cold or infection prior to your surgical procedure, notify your physician.
  • If you smoke, please do not do so after midnight the night before your surgery.
  • A consent for your surgical procedure must be signed before any medication can be given to you.
  • On the day of your surgery, you must have a responsible adult, who has a driver's license and can operate a car, with you. That person must accompany you to the Center and be present when you are ready to leave.
  • Please leave your jewelry, valuables, and hair pieces at home. If you wear contacts, please bring a case for safekeeping.
  • It is important to wear something comfortable. We will provide you with a patient gown.
  • All patients should remove nail polish. Female patients should remove all makeup and men should shave normally in the morning.
