There are
several different methods and a variety of insecticides that
may be used to combat wood insects and because no two jobs are
exactly alike it's extremely important to get a certified, trained
professional to determine the safest and most effective method
of fumigation.
You can be assured that the friendly, professional staff at
Fumigation Unlimited are just the professionals you can trust
to do the job right.
The following
methods and treatments are the ones we have found to be the
safest and most effective.

Baiting
Baiting
is the most significant innovation to occur in subterranean
termite control technology since the introduction of modern
termite control chemicals in the 1950's.
There are several advantages to baiting for termite control
but two are paramount. First, a termite bait actually suppresses
activity by a termite colony to attack a structure. In fact
termite baits may, under the right circumstances, eliminate
the termite colony. The second important advantage is the dramatic
reduction in the amounts of pesticide necessary for termite
control when termite baits are used in place of barrier treatments.

Soil Treatment
Introduce
yourself to PREMISE® Insecticide,
the innovative termiticide from Bayer Corporation that more
and more pest control operators are recommending. The unique
chemistry makes it an effective, low-risk choice for termite
control. By spreading throughout the soil, PREMISE provides
a complete treated zone around your house against intruding
termites a feature we call Lateral Soil Movement. And
PREMISE has no odor. The chemical isn't volatile, meaning there
are no airborne vapors to create an unpleasant smell. If you
choose, you and your family can remain at home during the entire
application procedure.

Gas Fumigation
A
wood-penetrating gas fumigation is the only sure way to kill
all the enemies within. This safe, thorough procedure has been
performed effectively for decades on homes, schools, museums
and other buildings. Whether you have termites or other wood-destroying
insects, a licensed professional will release the required amount
of fumigant into your home. This fumigant penetrates the wood
and destroys the existing infestation in your home. Once the
fumigation is completed, you'll re-enter your home knowing that
the battle against wood-destroying insects is finally over.
And you have won.
There are two gas fumigants that can be used for these fumigations:
VIKANE and methyl bromide. Only VIKANE provides peace of mind.
That's because VIKANE won't cause odor problems. Methyl bromide
can react with sulfur-containing products to cause a severe,
lasting odor. VIKANE Gas Fumigant is odorless, clean, non-staining,
non-corrosive and non-flammable. Plus, it penetrates wood faster
than methyl bromide.
