One of its most vital programs is Baptist Life Flight, which is an aeromedical emergency helicopter that has completed more than 10,000 accident-free patient transports since it began in 1981. As a result of a community assessment that revealed a second Baptist Life Flight helicopter was needed to expedite emergency medical services for north Georgia, Georgia Baptist acquired an additional helicopter in 1998. It is located at Baptist Medical Center in Cumming, 30 miles north of Atlanta. Both Baptist Life Flight helicopters are staffed by seasoned emergency pilots, flight nurses and paramedics with the highest level of certification in their respective fields.

Recognizing the importance of Baptist Life Flight and in the spirit of community service, BellSouth Advertising & Publishing (The Real Yellow Pages) entered into a groundbreaking partnership with Georgia Baptist in 1998 to support the costly Baptist Life Flight program. Never before had a communications publishing company and a health care system entered into such a partnership. Baptist Life Flight now bears the emblem of The Real Yellow Pages.
