important information

Appointments

In order to minimize waiting time, patients are seen by appointment only. Emergencies, of course, will be worked into the schedule as needed. When you call for an appointment you will be asked the nature of the visit. This information is important to determine the length of the visit; again to minimize the patient's waiting time. If you are unable to keep an appointment we request at least 24-hours notice of cancellation. This courtesy allows us to give your appointment time to another child and at the same time reschedule you for a more convenient time.

We are also pleased to offer after 5:00 p.m. appointments Monday through Thursday and on Saturday until noon for sick children only. A doctor and staff will be in the office as long as appointments are on the schedule.

Phone Numbers

850-473-0100 - Cordova
850-934-9876 - Gulf Breeze/Tiger Point

The telephone is an important and effective means of communication. Answering your questions about your child's health is an important part of our service. We encourage you to call if you have questions or concerns. Your call will be handled by one of our trained pediatric nurses, who will discuss your needs with you. When your question or problem is a medical one, the nurse will discuss it with us and then return your call with our advice or answers to your questions.

Medication Refills

The quickest and easiest way to obtain a refill of medicine is to call your pharmacy and have them request authorization from our office. Certain restricted drugs, such as Ritalin, require a new handwritten prescription and cannot be renewed by phone. As a general rule, we do not renew Antibiotic prescriptions unless it is documented in the patient's medical record. An examination by your physician will be necessary for any illness requiring antibiotic treatment.

Emergency / After-Hours Calls

After the office closes, a doctor will always be on call. Call our regular office number and the Doctor's Directory will contact us. If the doctor does not return your call within 30 minutes, call again. Emphasize the importance of the call and verify your telephone number. In the event that one of us cannot be reached immediately in an emergency, go directly to the nearest hospital Emergency Room, where a physician is always on duty. While you are receiving help the Emergency Room personnel will contact us.

Please do not call after hours for routine questions or matters that can be handled during regular office hours. However, if you find it necessary to call your doctor after hours, please feel free to do so.

Fees

We believe our fees are reasonable for our specialty and for the Pensacola area. They vary according to the complexity of your problem and the place where care is rendered (hospital, office or emergency room). Charges also vary for new versus established patients. First visit fees are higher because a much greater amount of time is spent on the initial visit. Please contact our business office with any questions or concern with your personal billing.
