Dr. William Douglas Banks

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Dr. Banks was born in Waynesville and grew up in Haywood County . He returned to western North Carolina to share his expertise in foot and ankle medicine and surgery. In addition to the broad training obtained in Chicago and Baltimore, Dr. Banks has also pursued opportunities in wound care and pedorthics (prescribing and fabrication of inserts, special shoes and braces). This insures that the Smoky Mountain Foot Clinic can provide comprehensive care for all foot and ankle problems.

Dr. Hale's family moved to Haywood County when he was 12 years old and he has always called Haywood County home. He is pleased to return to share his expertise with "friends" and "neighbors." His residency training was obtained at the Mountain Home VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, TN. Dr. Hale is Board Certified in the Prevention and Treatment of Diabetic Wounds by the American Podiatric Medical Specialty Board.
