Our Policies

dog care and boardingPlease take a look at our policy information below. Call us with any questions.

Temperament
Before we can allow any dog to become a member of a playgroup or to sleep over, they must first pass the Temperament Test, which consists of slowly introducing the newcomer to the group, closely watching behavior, and determining their correct playgroup. Behaviors that are not tolerated include excessive marking or mating attempts, and aggressive behavior toward other dogs or the staff.

Vaccinations
Only pets that have been fully vaccinated may join the playgroups at The Animal House, Inc. We recommend that all vaccinations be up-to-date a week before joining a playgroup. Required vaccinations include DHLPP, bordatella, and rabies. We must have written proof of vaccinations from your veterinarian; have them fax it to us at (706) 737-5960.

Flea Control
All dogs that attend The Animal House must be flea-free and on an approved topical flea control program, such as Frontline Plus or Advantage. If your pet currently has a flea problem, he or she must be bathed with our special conditioning flea shampoo before checking in; the cost is $18.00.

Spaying/Neutering
Male dogs older than 6 months must be neutered. While spaying of female dogs is not required, we do not accept dogs in heat or recently out of heat. The Animal House, Inc. is not responsible for any pregnancies that may occur.

Feeding and Medication
While we suggest that dogs be fed at home, we will gladly feed your dog at no charge. Just provide us with that day's supply (labeled with your dog's name, your last name, and AM/PM) at each visit. We use and recommend Solid Gold dog food, and if you prefer, we will provide it to your dog for $3 per meal. With the exception of injections, we will also medicate per your instructions.

Sleep Overs
Although pets tend to eat a lot less when away from home, be sure to pack enough for the entire stay. Toys, blankets, beds, etc. are encouraged to make your dog's temporary lodging as close to home as possible.

Sick Pets
We reserve the right to refuse a visit if your pet arrives sick or flea-infested. If your pet gets sick while here, we will either quarantine the pet until you can pick it up, or we will take it to our vet if we deem it necessary.

Transportation Service
Pick-up and delivery customers will need to provide a house key and any alarm information necessary to enter. We can not guarantee precise pickup or delivery times due to traffic conditions and the number of clients using this service.

Pickup
Please be prompt about picking up your dog at the end of the day. Our late fee is $1/per minute past closing time. After 30 minutes, your dog will be boarded overnight with us for an additional charge of $25.
