Questions and Answers:
Q. I had an electrolysis treatment once and it just hurt too much! Why doesn’t the GHR hurt?
A. First of all, you’re not alone. The needle method is too painful for most people. With the GHR method, unwanted hairs are held in a special insulated tweezer for treatment. The process is done above the skin and, therefore, it’s very comfortable.
Q. A tweezer system? Many electrologists say tweezers will not work.
A. The state-of-the-art GHR system uses galvanic or dc electric current. These electrologists remember the old-fashioned radio frequency tweezer systems. The Federal Trade Commission ruled in 1991 that radio frequency tweezer systems are not permanent. In the GHR system, galvanic or dc current flows out of the tweezer and through the water in the hair to cause a chemical reaction at the hair root that destroys the hair matrix, the cells that produce new hair. Once the root has been destroyed, it will never re-grow again.
Q. How effective is the GHR tweezer method compared to the needle?
A. The reason everyone is so excited about the GHR system is that, since 1986, we have thousands of successful treatments across the U.S., Canada and around the world. GHR exceeds the performance of the painful needle method.
Q. Am I right in thinking that all hairs are destroyed during the first treatment session?
A. No. On average, the body is capable of producing as many as 1,000 hairs per square inch. Today you probably have no more than 100 hairs per square inch visible above the skin. That means more than 9 out of 10 hairs that your body is capable of producing might not be visible on the day of your first treatment.
Q. How much time is involved and when can I expect to no longer need regular treatments?
A. The first session will be the longest. Follow-up visits will grow shorter. Eventually you’ll probably come in just every other week for 15 minutes.
After about 12 weeks of treatments, we’ll be able to give you an estimate of when regular treatments may no longer be necessary. It’s quite likely that your condition will be cleared up in 9 to 16 months or less. Perhaps the best benefit is the cost of your treatment may be a medical deduction on your income tax.
