Sclerotherapy What
Is It?
Sclerotherapy is a cosmetic procedure
where a medicine is injected in the leg veins which makes the small cutaneous
veins go away. This is an easy, low impact treatment and the patient can literally
return to work immediately after the procedure. We ask patients to wear support
hose for two days after, but there is little, if any, restriction of activities. Facial
veins can also be treated. Sclerotherapy is an excellent introductory treatment
for patients who are interested in cosmetic procedures, as it is very safe, low
impact, minimal recovery, and almost painless. What
is recovery time? Wear support hose for two
days.
